Plastic, although convenient to use, contributes to the death of marine life. When disposed of incorrectly, plastic makes its way to bodies of water, where animals believe they are eating food. For example, on June 2, 2018, a pilot whale died after swallowing 80 plastic bags. The bags weighed about 17 pounds making it impossible for the whale to eat food.

Plastic has impacted everyone whether they know it or not. People are becoming more aware of the damages done, and therefore becoming environmentally active.

How you can help:

1. Spread the word!
2. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!
3. Say no to straws
4. Use reusable bags
5. Find other ways to replace plastic
